The Last Shipment of coal was made on the 25th September 1969. Two ships were loaded on that day, the FERRYHILL and the JONRIX, but as to which one was the last to leave port remains to be seen.
From the 1st July 1909 to the 30th June 1940 10,904,964 Tons of Coal was Shipped from Warkworth Harbour, carried by 9,312 ships.
The record year was from the 1st July 1912 to 30th June 1913 when 629,339 tons were shipped by 621 ships.
Total shipments from 1909 to 1968 were 16,323,794 Tons carried by 17,648 ships.
