Elsewhere on MEN Paul has mentioned seeing a ferro concrete lighter at work in the harbour. I presume these views record the occasion.

T'was never really "At Work", but grounded and full of Rocks.

Mind as Kids we sailed the seven sea's on her on many an occasion!

From memory you could get down into both ends until they gradually filled with sand. The harbour has been improved considerably since then and the Barge has been built around. When they built the new Breakwater on the other side they just drove stuff round at low water, nowhere near as exciting as when they built the bridge.......

We were invaded again much later on but thats another story!
