Well, there you go! I didn't know the version by the Beach Boys (which was the one that came to my mind) was a cover version in 1965 of this original 1961 hit! Live and learn. Thanks, George.

1962, covered by Jan & Dean, 1966 by The Who and in 1979 was used as the basis of Bomb Iran - as the American's Iranian Embassy hostage crisis (Jimmy Carter, helicopters crashing in the desert etc) was in the news.

Lots of cover versions around, very few match or surpass the original but step forward County Durham's finest. Brian Ferry with his cover of John Lennon's Jealous Guy

We have seen her before:-


She was built in1988 at Newhaven as the JUNE ROSE LH38.
39 x 16 x 9 feet.
25.32 Gross.
Homeport Eyemouth.
Engine (as built):- 320 hp Gardner.
Owner until 2006 was William O Selkirk of Musselburgh.

Became BARBARA ANN WA38 in 2006. Spotted at the Royal Quays on the 30th December 2016.
