Simonside

Another of Joseph Carney's hoppers, the SIMONSIDE, built as HOPPER No 9 by Fleming & Ferguson in 1931 for the Clyde Navigation Trust . She became SIMONSIDE in 1964, which is approx when this photo was taken, and ended her days at Blyth in 1967.

Ahead of the SIMONSIDE can be seen the open gates of a drydock. I presume this is the Robert Thomson yard at Southwick.
