Wear tugs PALLION & CORNHILL. PALLION was built by Richard Dunston at their Thorne yard in 1944 as TID 72. She spent most of her life on the Wear until being broken up there in 2008. CORNHILL was American built in 1943 and served some 30 years on the river for France, Fenwick Tyne & Wear. She was eventually broken up in 1996. A fine view with a nice contrast in war-built style and sizes! In the distance it looks like a British India on Corporation Quay.

That's my photo, taken in June 1964. I put it on Tugtalk back in 2003.
I don't have a note of the BI cargo liner, but in the left background is WEAR HOPPER NO.4, and on Thompson's slip is believed to be BRITISH COMMERCE taking shape.
