.... I would understand if this river view is not considered to be in the spirit of NEM, and given the elbow, but here goes anyway! ;)

Crossing over the river via the King Edward Railway Bridge a couple of days ago SIR NIGEL GRESLEY was on her way to Edinburgh from York on a Steam Dreams charter

Absolutely splendid, Malcolm, well worth a patient wait on the bridge.
No excuses needed for anything 'in steam' on NEM.

NYMR had her in black for their 'wartime weekends' when I caught her (him?) at Levisham and Pickering on 4 October 2022. Good to see her back in proper colours.

Great photo of 60007 on the bridge, sadly failed later on in the Joppa area with broken piston rings.

Incase you were planning to go out for Sundays return, it will be hauled by an English Electric type 4 or Class 40 in new (post 68) parlance, which is, in itself, heritage traction same age as me !!

Quite fancy the title "Heritage person" !!

“Oh Happy Days” waiting on Darlington Station with Brownie 127 Camera, Spam Sandwiches and a bottle of diluted Ministry of Food Orange Juice waiting for this/these mighty engines to arrive and depart in clouds of steam.

60007 SIR NIGEL GRESLEY .jpg

After taking part in the recent East Lancashire Steam Gala the A4 today made her way along the Tyne Valley Line, heading for Heaton Depot, Newcastle, where she will be stabled overnight. Seen here drifting down the incline passing the sorry looking collection of pigeon lofts near Dunston station
The loco is scheduled to haul a train to York tomorrow
