For youngsters eyes the Taxiarchis sat on Coatham Beach was quite a sight as it looked enormous :o God knows what a youngsters eyes would make of a gigantic Box Boat if it landed in the same place which although now unlikely due to your wise words, however it could happen to the smaller vessels after they have "Pinballed" through the Wind Farm. Which one day will happen even though they have moved the Anchorage further to the North.
Not seen so many of the German Cockpit style Messerschmitts around these days but there seems to be plenty of BMW Isetta Bubble cars still around. My Auntie, her Husband and small Baby toured Scotland in one when on a camping holiday, the Husband had made a Trailer for it, no George not the baby.
Today I was expecting to to stay in due to the Weather Forecasts but we are in bathed in Sunshine at the moment (barring for a smidging of rain) whereas to the North in Durham there has been Snow, to the South high winds, Yorkshire is indeed Gods own Country.

BBC have just downgraded us from 70mph to a slight breeze of 45mph so we seem to be just on northern edge of the worst of the weather.
On a positive side, doubt any little dinghies crossing the Channel today :)

Well george you never know. One might appear behind the TV news reporter on a seafront somewhere being battered by waves reiterating the Coastguard statement to STAY AWAY FROM THE BLOODY SEA FRONT!!!!!

A bit like no trespassing signs, which brings me to a story about an old friend now no longer with us, his name was Jimmy Southall a lovely chap ex Guards Officer and a Director of Middlesbrough Estates which owned various Wharves, although we came from different backgrounds ( he having money and me searching the back of the Sofa :) ). we got on well together. Jimmy had a large Estate outside of Great Ayton along with the old Hall.
Everyday he would do the rounds of his estate and was sick of Poachers (despite the no Trespassing signs) laying various Poachers Traps, as a result of this annoyance he bought some "Mines". These Mines consisted of a holder that you could fit a Blank Shotgun Cartridge in and a length of trip wire, Jimmy laid these Mines out over his estate and waited.
He was doing his rounds one morning when he heard a BANG off he ran to the source and found a chap with a White Dog Collar resplendent on one of the benches clutching his chest just about to have a Heart Attack, after the Vicar eventually got his breath back he explained that he had called at the Hall to introduce himself and as Jimmy was not in decided to go and look for him around the grounds. BIG MISTAKE :)
Why is it that people ignore either advice by the Coastguard or Warning Signs and take a risk?
Mines are still available at any good Country Pursuits Outlet ;)

Not again, how many of those ugly Car Carriers have come to grief for various reasons in recent years? Still there is an upside as the Workers at Bentley will have to make them all over again keeping the business going till I can order mine and go "California Dreaming" :D

Yesterday we saw the BBC reporter in Wales that could hardly stand up in the gale on the sea front while the other camera they had was using the local RNLI camera 'inside' there watch house, while the Irish reporter was standing absolutely dripping wet, whats with the BBC who insist the reporters have to be there or do they think we don't know what 80/90 mph winds look like.

Best one down here was last week with a local reporter in his wellies standing in water of course telling us how bad the flooding was going to get, it was for the reporter as water was going over the top of his wellies filling them as he spoke.
