Another fine view of the Newcastle bridges with the coaster PANDORA alongside the Quayside.

An unfortunate end for a little ship. I'm guessing at 1938 ish, by registration and parked cars. ??

I thought it was recorded within NEM but Wikipedia states:
On 22 October 1951, Gripfast answered a distress call from the Pandora. There was a collision in which Gripfast's propeller was damaged and Pandora was holed. Pandora foundered with the loss of all six crew. The Court of Inquiry found that Pandora would probably have remained afloat longer had she not been in collision with Gripfast.
Use the search facility to find several entries as GRIPFAST and CAPETAN COSTAS P.

Which suggests the outcome would probably have been no different, just delayed. RIP

An "exceptionally light Draft" and bad weather in the North Sea does not bode well, ask anybody who has sailed on an Inshore Minesweeper, in my case on HMS Chailey.
