Cairn laid up #.jpg
Taken in June 1966 during the national seaman's strike when a good number ships were laid up at odd places in the river, this included CAIRNGLEN. I assume that KINPURNIE CASTLE had discharged some cargo at the quay before an enforced stay.
I notice that the two vessels appear to be flying the same two-flag hoist.
Judging by the number of vans on the tracks in front of the mill it seems that British Railways still transported a fair amount of product for Spillers at this time.
