TGF will be Tyne General Ferry

A bit more info on ELEANOR at : http://www.tynebuiltships.co.uk/E-Ships ... r1891.html

TGF was wound up in 1909 and many of the ferries were sold on, over time. These look a bit careworn and perhaps are awaiting sale.

The location of the yard must be just downstream from Hawthorn, Leslie's engine works at St Peters (I think)

The outboard ferry has a hinged foremast and appears to have a hinged funnel - was this to allow passage beneath the swing bridge without it opening?
