Quo Vadis was built in Holland 1956.

497 Gross.

Some of you may remember she became Le Blonde's MANOR PARK in 1978.

THEKLA and MANOR PARK ex QUO VADIS at Hendon Dock, 17/5/1981.

THEKLA was sold as a Theatre, arts & crafts centre and moved to Bristol about 1982-3 and marketed as OLD PROFANITY SHOWBOAT, although still showing the name THEKLA. The photo below was taken at Bristol on 12/7/1989, and the wording OLD PROFANITY SHOWBOAT can just be seen on the bridge. (I believe the barge PETER alongside was built in Holland in 1931)

NORWEST LAIRD, the former LOCHIEL of 1939. She had been briefly on a Fleetwood - Isle of Man service, hence her name, then to Bristol, later OLD LOCHIEL and broken up at Bristol in 1996.

I know we are straying from the original subject now, but here is LOCHIEL at Bristol in December 1994, just over a year before her demise.

Thanks both, I remembered half the name!

Must admit its a long time since we visited Bristol. The original Lifeboat Museum was there plus the Bristol Industrial Museum which was a bit like the old Science Museum in Exhibition Park, Newcastle with loads of interesting items on display.

By happy chance an unattributed photo of LOCHIEL has just appeared elsewhere!
