Graham, I presume you mean my photos at the top of the thread.
The first one showing FD UNBEATABLE and FD UNTOUCHABLE at Sheers Quay was taken through the railings next to the Welcome Tavern as shown in the following photo and map (both copyright of Google).

The others involved a bit of a trail so take walking boots/shoes.
Park car in car park as shown. This is deepest Hendon/Grangetown so don't leave valuables in car.
Walk back up to the railway line and follow it North. The line is fenced off on your left and the port soon appears fenced off to the right.
With a bit of clambering around and without trespassing I managed those photos.

Thanks for that Dave
Was well away from where you were for the pics. Will try and find the time/reason to visit again, might take the bike as I did a lot of walking yesterday.
Planned to start at Gateshead and work my way to the Wear but did not plan for 5k runners doing a 10k run around Gateshead quayside - sorry quays
Last time I was in Sunderland was last April, trying to avoid fans streaming out of the SOT (Stadium of Tripe) when they were still only 0-1 to Leicester who went on to be champions. Would have got more points for knocking over a fan than City did

Well I eventually managed to return to Sunderland, quite a momentous day for both myself and Chris Coleman -we both managed to get out
And, after a bit of trying, found how to get from the promenade to the South Dock.
Also found the factory which supplies our sausage skins as well.

Graham

Thirty years old so guess in this day and age and after a good period of lay up, according to marine traffic she has been in sunderland since 14th April 2016.
Wonder how many managers Ellis Short hired and fired in that time :D

Just reading Fratelli D’Amato Armatori, owner of the FD boats, has sold it's fleet of 5 ships and withdrawn from shipping. They are bound for the Caspian Sea after being sold to Baku-based Caspian Marine Services.
And they are going the scenic route, through Russia starting at St. Petersburg
