We had the contract to supply her with fresh meat and veg while she was working off Amble and Sunderland. Crew's well fed believe me. Was the same with the other drill ships that Coe operated. Well I suppose working for the NCB it was public money at the end of the day. Let's face it donkey jackets were the fashion in them days and more people wore them than worked down the pit !

Nowt wrong with a 'Donkey Jacket' for keeping you warm.........Set off with a nice pair of Tuff Boots before steel toecaps became the norm.
