This series just makes me sad at the lack of ships, and yearning for the old days.

As you may remember my dad was a crane driver on Alex, then KG before retiring. Now no quay cranes on Alex and in another view of KG/QE I can see only 9 quay cranes across the two docks - 4 on container terminal, 2 on 10 quay (bulk terminal) and 3 along the north side of KG. It even looks like one of the four big cranes on the North wall has already been removed. Even I, as a youngster who started in 1981, wish those days of old were still with us, with the camera gear I have now...

.... and that feeling is even worse for those many of us who go back to the 60s or even slightly earlier!!

Had chance to get a view of Albert and William Wright docks this morning - another fairly empty scene :(

Interesting to see the 'sand castles' and that B/C Sheds have had their roofs refurbished, probably soya or wheat inside?
