Keelman, please keep them coming.
The ROYAL CROWN fills another gap in the list of 99 ships I noted as being in the River Tyne on 23 August 1961.

By no stretch of the imagination do I have an extensive collection of slides and although I would love to " keep them coming" on a more regular basis the truth is that if I did that then it wouldn't be too long before I ran out of material.
I now much regret being too fussy when taking ship pics, if the light was a bit 'iffy' for example I didn't take my camera out of the bag, or if one of those 'pesky' tugs sneaked its way into the shot then the slide would be donated to my pal! A fair number of my pics are stern shots taken after the ship had moved past me, why didn't I take a bow shot? , probably because the bridge etc. was in shadow or I didn't like the perspective! Can you believe it!
Another regret I have is that I took very few general views of every day life on the river. How true it is that familiar things are often ignored or not appreciated until they are gone forever.

I guess I was with you on that day George -- one of our mega-trips to Sunderland, the Tyne and Blyth.

I echo Ron's sentiments and always look forward to your colour pics Keelman. My own rare photographic attempts at the time were pathetic in comparison.

Don't knock your efforts Mike. I think picture content and interest is more important than quality on NEM. Particularly regarding photos of times past.
