Posted: Fri Oct 21, 2022 7:18 pmThe confusion arises simply because Thompsons took over Crowns in 1946 but crowns contracts continued to be built there in Crowns yard numbering sequence. so a crowns ship, built at Crowns yard, with a Crowns yard number but the yard was then owned by Thompsons so there are several instances when a Crowns ship is credited to Thompsons or vice versa. I suppose both were right
