OPAL was an Admiralty M Class. 1025 Tons Displacement (Average.)
3 x 4 Inch.
1 x 2 Pdr. Pom Pom.
1 x Mg.
4 x 21" Torpedo Tubes in twin Mounts.

Wrecked 21st January 1918 off the Orkneys. Wreck sold 18th August 1932.

Thanks for the information. I seldom record detail of naval vessels, but realise I should. Wonder how much you'd get for it at todays scrap values.

OPAL was one of 22 Admiralty Designed Emergency War Programme "M" Class.

The Doxford built ones all had Parsons Turbines which gave them a speed of 33 to 34 knots.

Names and Launch dates of the Third Order vessels built by Doxfords were:-
OPAL. 11-9-15.
OPHELIA. 13-10-15.
OPPORTUNE. 20-11-15.
ORACLE. 23-12-15.
ORESTES. 21-3-16.
ORFORD. 19-4-16.
ORPHEUS. 17-6-16.
OCTAVIA. 21-6-16.
