Bartram & Sons, Sunderland (310) as EMPIRE TESBURY
Towards the end of the war, coastal tankers were designed for service in the Far East
and given Empire names starting TED (tankers, eastern, diesel) or TES (tankers, eastern, steam)
Owned by the Admiralty but renamed RIPPLEDYKE for commercial charter in 1951
Became a naval oil hulk at Gibraltar in 1958
Sold to Italian owners 1961 and converted to a suction dredger, renamed ADA in 1965
Sank at Venice after a collision 5/11/1966, refloated and repaired
Classed as a barge from 1978, broken up at Porto Nogaro in 11/1981
