Some slides taken by Albert Weller, undated but I imagine during her call in Middlesbrough Dock while on her maiden voyage. (What, yet another ship visit I missed?!):

Lovely picture of Boswell fitting out. What an amazing difference a picture taken from the same place as the first picture would make today. Even buildings on the sky line have gone now and retail parks dominate the same view. Lovely memory though.

A Lamport&Holt vessel but showing Chinese Republic Flag in 1979, was she sold during her build? Not uncommon at that time as there where a number of Shipowners sold their newbuilds for profit whilst they were still being completed or shortly afterwards transferring after their maiden voyage.

Thanks N.E. certainly not long with British Owners, I wonder if 'Containerisation' brought about her early disposal, on the Tees if the vessel could not get under the Sheerlegs the large Floating Crane had to be used to lift the Containers off the Decks of the conventional Cargo Vessels if I remember correctly until either British Shipowners embraced Containers or as most did just closed shop putting Merchant Seamen out of work unless they went Foreign Flag.

Was wondering if I had got the original Info. wrong but I think that was a direct copy from Equasis, so they probably gave you a wrong steer.
