I can't believe the locals have so far ignored this faithful servant on NEM!
Outwards on 11 April 2001 came the Port of Tyne Authority hopper/dredger
HEDWIN (British/677/6-1969 at Leith). 2011 KMC PELICAN (still in service)

Ron, we often ignore these local craft under our noses, until one day they are gone, then we wish we had made more effort!

COMARCO OSPREY sailing from the Tyne with the Ports old bucket dredger Hedwin on the 14/03/2011. First stop was Falmouth for bunkers with the final destination Mombasa.

Well she did get there and was renamed KMC PELICAN owned by Kenya Marine Contractors Ltd. of Mombasa, under Tanzania flag.
