Just inside the Tyne breakwaters on 11 April 2001 was the tug T H DEV (5279618).
At the time, Kevin Blair reminded me she started out as PLATEAU for the Port of London Authority till 1973 when she became AFON LAS for Holyhead Towing till 1989. She then became ALYS ANN for Thoroughgood Towing till 1991 when she was bought by Western Ocean Towing and named TOWINGMAN. Tyne Towage bought her in 1995 and named her ALYS ANN she became TH DEV in 1996. Built by Scarr of Hessle in 1952 and 159gt.

As I recall, it was that very same day it was announced that Cammell Laird had called in the receivers and the T H DEV was immediately stood down. BU Howdon 4.06. See also: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=265&hilit=dev

Went for a walk along the pier at Tynemouth years ago and saw TH DEV outwards from the Tyne and turn left up towards Blyth.
