Container terminal

Container terminal

Postby Tynesider » Thu Oct 28, 2021 11:08 am

I hear that on the PTA are dismantling a container gantry crane this Sunday anyone know why? as I would of thought we need more container unloading facilities not less.

Other than the usual ferry and Nissan boats I note the Tyne is getting less shipping almost monthly now even Blyth is busier

Apparently it is too small to handle the growing size of container feeder boats so it's coming down and, I guess, being replaced.
Length of arm and all that
Wait and see eh?
