SPIRIT OF NORTHUMBERLAND

The Severn Class all weather lifeboat based at North Shields came into service in 1995. She can achieve a speed of 25 knots and has a range of 250 nautical miles.

Built 1999 by Green Marine and the Berthon Boat Company.
Donor. The Tynemouth Lifeboat Appeal and other gifts and lagacies.
Official Number 1242.
Cost £1,750,000.
Twin Caterpillar 1,200 bhp.
Stationed at Tynemouth since 21st October 1999.
