I remember calling SOs "Sundry Orders" but that could well be my memory playing tricks. (At least it is still there in some form to play tricks)

You know the more I look at Ron's picture, the more I wonder........

Where is the bow of the ship??

The picture was in the 1948 Handbook and similar shots appear in 1959 and 1969 and they are bow shots of what appears to be the same ship.
Apart from having Five letters in its name its impossible to read the name of the ship. :(
