Nice of them to put the ON on the stern 186864. CLIP site seems to suggest she/he was built in 1957.

Which is more than we knew before!

I take it the sequence of numbers suggest's 1957.

Its a lot of pages to go through to find her previous name unless there is a short cut......which I doubt :(

CLIP lists as follows: FATHER NEPTUNE 186864 Newcastle, 1957, Motor Appropriation Books, RSS

I took the 1957 to be the build date, but looking again I think it is the registration date

Thanks for the link Ron.

I got one picture of Father Neptune (Added to Link.) and Kevin and I were bidding for this second one which appeared to give a clue as to her origins/owner. We were outbid and this second picture came up again on Ebay the other week. Kevin managed to get it this time!
So we now have an official number and the information from CLIP.

Father Neptune was indeed owned by Swan Hunter, having been built at Amble by Harrisons.
