We usualy consider a Triple Expansion Engine to be relatively slow running.
These little vessels had two side by side on the Centre Line turning at nearly 400 rpm on a full speed run with no forced lubrication. The challenge of keeping them lubricated must have been incredible. Forced Lubrication was later added to some vessels.

The first 12 Destroyers had an 18ft Gig, replaced by a 25ft Whaler, two 22ft Reindeer Hair boats, subsequently replaced by Berthon collapsible and a 13ft 6in Dinghy.
