I have had this photo filed as 'Scarr Hessle' for a long time but can now doubt whether it can be on the foreshore there, even if before the jetty was built, the entrance to the Haven would surely have been more built-up than this, although early vessels were launched into the Haven rather than on the river frontage.
The coaster itself is a mystery with her distinctive mast arrangement and cannot tie her to any Scarr vessels as yet.
All ideas re location and the vessel are welcome.

Not that it helps a lot, but she reminds me more of a Dredger or a Hopper Barge, and don't think its that ancient, looking at the Guy in the foreground.

That guy is clearly dressed as a spy, must be WW2 :D
Or those Yorkshire Ship Enthusiasts ....
I also thought the hull shape was like a dredger or hopper but surely neither of those would have masts especially like these?

Just had a look through Talbot B's and nothing jumps out......

The Blyth Dredger CROFTON had a Foremast like your vessel. The twin masts were shorter and the upper mast was in the centre of the web. She had small derricks that served each side of her Hopper.

She has the well rounded hull of a Hopper Barge.

We will just have to see if anyone else has any clues......... :?:
