GUARDSMAN and HMS SENESCHAL

Postby teesships » Sun Jul 15, 2012 9:33 pm

(Albert Weller collection)
The Humber tug GUARDSMAN towing HMS SENESCHAL (S75) past Wallsend on the River Tyne
GUARDSMAN, 329gt, completed Cochrane & Sons, Selby, 2-1946, ex Empire Nina-47.
BU Blyth 10.67 [Hughes Bolckow & Co] So, already, links to Shipbuilding at Selby, and Shipbreaking at Blyth!
Now I can look up the SENESCHAL in Miramar, we can now put this into the correct section - Shipbreaking on the Tyne!
SENESCHAL, completed Scotts' SB, Greenock, 9-1945.
BU Dunston 23.8.60 (which presumably gives a reasonably accurate dating for these Weller pics!)

An enlarged scan of the first view above together with a nice one of the GUARDSMAN alone. The view of the SENESCHAL alone is on another strip of negatives which I still have to re-do at some future stage.
