792 and 793 were both sunk in the Kieil canal but raised in June and May 45 respecively and taken to the Howalswerke quey in Kiel and scrapped so they did not feature in the divisions up of the Potsdam agreement the 4 other boats you mention (plus 2348 scrapped at Belfast) wre retained for examination by the RN before scrapping.

Thank You for the further info, is there any photographs of N19 ex U1171 being scrapped at Sunderland, I am wondering if she ended up on the Tyne eventuality as there was a bit of swapping going on between Scrappies.

10 boats were retained by the UK under the Potsdam agreement for tests. U190 surrendered in Canada and was sunk as a target.7 were scrapped in the UK (including U1407/ HMS Meteorite). 2 U2326 and U2518 were transferred to France.

I have not seen any photos of U1171 being scrapped at Sunderland, but I doubt that she would have been moved to the Tyne.

G.M. buggins like yourself I have read the Barrow research, having served in HMS Bellerophon and am familiar with Disposals checks before a vessel leaves for the Breakers Yard part of the research seems to drift into a flight of fantasy which has always left me wondering how accurate the report is especially when there appears to be no information from either BISCO or the Breakers in regard to the yield and disposal costs of a former U Boat.
