The Algerine class minesweeper Rinaldo on 23 September 1961. She had arrived on 16 August for breaking by Dorkin and is seen here on a temporary berth just above the old Redheugh Bridge .

I love these atmospheric shots, "Desolate in Desolation"

I guess this is a view as it would be today, looking from the new Redheugh Bridge over the top of the old site and on to the riverside at Scotswood. This part of the river bank has been improved but the land behind has yet to be developed.

"Desolate in Desolation"
Sounds a bit like me after a few swigs of my special sherry.
