Taken on 18 April 1962, Wave had arrived on the 13 April and is berthed below the King Edward Bridge, the submarine Trespasser can just be seen at her bow. she was later moved above the bridge. She had an ealier claim to fame hen she was driven ashore at St Ives in a gale in 1952.

Great photo Brian, thanks. Photo has everything, smoke, gloom, dereliction and the steam engine in silhouette. Oh and a warship as well.

Excellent Brian - I couldn't put it better than Dave - I was back 50 years in the blink of an eye. Could be the basis for a Lowry.

It was berthed at Newcastle the previous day. On May 2nd H.M.S. Welcome/M386 berthed at Newcastle before joining Wave. Thanks for a nostalgic photo.
