AQUITANIA at Walker. According to Wikipedia: "In December of 1919 Aquitania was docked at the Armstrong Whitworth yards in Newcastle to be refitted for post-war service. The ship was converted from coal burner to oil-fired"

I don't think that is a "Tyne" Ferry. She looks to big.

The FAIRY QUEEN was the third Hebburn Ferry and she was built at Paisley in 1897. She had large square saloon windows and was only 51 Gross Tons.
The HEBBURN and the WALLSEND were ex CLUTHA No 7 and No 8, both from the Clyde and they were 76 ft x 16 ft. pictures on Clyde Site.

Opps forgot the WALKER. She was built at Rutherglen in 1897 as the COUNTESS OF MAYO and she was even smaller at 70 ft x 14 ft. 46 Gross.

Can't see her deck / hatches but may be a collier, no gear needed.

Actually she has certain similarities to a Mersey Class Admiralty Trawler. The Turtle-back Forecastle and the Bridge with the two ventilators and the tall funnel are typical. Possibly one which was being converted for Mercantile Use.

Check this one out:-

Not convinced, Paul, I think a much older vessel, pre-1900.

Certainly a decent natural draft 'Draw' on the coal fires with a Funnel of that height on the Coaster ex Trawler? No need to worry about running out of coal just broach the cargo. :D Ron@?
