Strickly for the older members :D
This is the France loading coal 'IN' the Albert Edward Dock in the early 1900's, you can just see the entrance to the existing lock at her stern, the coal staiths is now the Marina boatyard.

Looks like she could be the D & W Henderson Ltd built vessel of 1890. If so, she was abandoned in the Atlantic 13/05/1901, on a voyage from North Shields to Iquique in Chile.

This is actually believed to be the last photograph taken of her before she was lost.

She was built for the French firm of A. D. Bordes. Other sources say she was bound for Valparaiso with Tyne Coal.
