Apparently PD ports run a naming within its staff and the winner was Emerald Duchess.

Better than Sucky McSucky I suppose. They must have been taken by the nice green colour.

Strong Irish influence in P. D. Ports? Or bulk buying of Green Paint bearing in mind the new builds for Arklow Shipping or it looks ;) environmentally friendly, Even the Dutch Ship Spotters are bit sick of it and rush to photograph vessels with different Hull Colours.
Looks like they are keeping up the tradition of putting some Power Plant in the Bow,, unless you were a resident of Aberdeen the Boilers in the Bow looked very strange on No1.
She may have been bought on the Tees Account but I can’t see her being “Cost Effective” unless PD have made some changes to the Working Hours Contract. Any odds on her working in other PD Ports.
Still smooth sailing to her and good wishes to her Crew it would seem there is a lot of “ology” on board as well as Soft Patches.

Unless I need new glasses she doesn’t seem to have a free fall Lifeboat either, she does appear to have Rubber Raft Canisters P&S, getting into them Wet and Fully Clothed and possibly carrying a bit of weight will take some doing especially if you are first one to clamber aboard.
Looking at the position of Her Plimsoll Line and Her Transom I think catching the Wind could be a bit of a problem, although I am not in favour of calling Ships “He” (a German Tradition) I would have thought they could have called the vessel “Samuel Plimsoll” bearing in mind his local connection.

They must be a bit worried about her sinking on a non working weekend judging by the White Datum line on her Bow which is usually seen on Vessels that are laid up, has she been handed over yet or still on Owners Acceptance Trials Captains nice little “Jolly Boat” I hope he is the one to lower it when everybody else is safely on the” Jolly Boat cum Lifeboat “ we don’t want any Concordia Captains on Teesside thank you.
This was before Ron M’s time but I can’t remember any occasion when Lifeboat Drill was ever carried out.
