Eleven members of the Teesside Ship Society (Teesside Branch WSS) enjoyed a great morning out on the river last Wednesday, 30 May 2012, courtesy of Svitzer. We were split into three groups and I was allocated to the FIERY CROSS.

FIERY CROSS (9064712), British, 296gt, completed Dunston, Hessle, 9-1993.

These were my detail and action shots.

... and, from on board SVITZER HUTTON, Derek Hinds returned the compliment!
I'm in my shirtsleeves - yes it was that warm by then!!

A couple more of Derek's shots.

And later as we returned to berth at the tug base. Yes, I'm still there. Am I OK to stand here minding my own business?
No fiery groin, George? Not too close to the washing machine, Paul?

Hhehehehe

Well we just have to admit we are just green with ENVY regarding the Teesside Branch's connections with Svitzer, which I am glad to see have continued since John's death.

But really pleased you had a good day and were able to get and post some excellant pictures.

Paul,
Having said that, it is actually about 10 years since we were last able to visit. All thanks to Derek this time. And, yes, whisper it softly, we were told we would be welcome back whenever ....!
Yes, we did somewhat lose contact following John Proud's death but I'm glad to say his wife, Win, still comes to our Teesside Ship Society meetings and also, as you probably know, attends the tug meetings up your way.
