Can anyone confirm what her Machinery Layout was please?

She was powered by two Triple Expansion Engines and according to Lloyds they were Aft.

I had assumed her Dredge Pump was situated forward with its own Boiler, hence the funnel being forward......

But was the Main/Only Boiler Room situated forward and was steam supplied to the Dredge Pump then aft to her propulsion engines??? Seems a long way to run the Main Steam Main.

Should have paid more attention when she was being scrapped.... :?

A retired dredger engineer with TCC/THPA confirms: the only boiler room on no. 1 dredger was forward.

Thanks Ron, hope the Steam Main to the Engines was well lagged.....

Must have been a long job getting her warmed through from a Cold Start.

The only boiler room was forrard, the pump room was located below the wheelhouse and the engines were astern of that. The crew lived up in the bows and had their own galley while the 'officeres' lived aft.
