T.C.C. HOPPER NO. 3 (5347764): 658gt; 9.1955 completed by Scarr of Hessle for Tees Conservancy Commissioners;
1.1.1967 ownership passed to Tees and Hartlepools Port Authority
circa 1972 to Pounds Marine Sg Ltd.; circa 1975 to J.J.Beddows
deleted 10.8.10 - existence in doubt

This vessel was powered by an 8? Cylinder Crossley two stroke diesel ( Bridge Control) :o and a break from the steam powered Hoppers. Two Gennies both Gardners of different power outputs. The big change was the Hopper Doors which used hydraulics rams to open and close ( the rams can be seen in the photographs) Hydraulics are fine in the marine environment bearing in mind salt water corrosion however even a pin prick of a leak can leave you with what seems like half of the Saudi oil production on the deck.

Thank You Northeast, had a feeling it was an eight but not 100% sure shaft driven via MWD Gearbox.
