Bridge Footpath Closure

Postby Humbersmith1 » Mon Jul 02, 2012 12:27 pm

Anyone planning to go up on to the Humber Bridge for an afternoon convoy would be advised not to bother for the time being. The east footpath has been closed for some time and the response to my enquiry told me this would be the case for some considerable time. It will probably stay closed until the end of the "painting season" which could be mid to late October. As with most things in the UK the user can like it or lump it.

Thanks for that Simon, was considering it yesterday if weather had improved.

Back in the 80's we used to call at the bridge office and get a pass to go on the closed side if there was a good tide, don't suppose H&S will allow that nowadays.

I think no win no fee put paid to that Patrick! Oh well, looks like Whitton or the Trent and Ouse for a while. It could be worse.

Noted both footpaths open today as we passed under the bridge.

I noticed that yesterday as well Patrick. Maybe just for the weekend but we live in hope.
