Joseph Scarr Beverley shipyard

Joseph Scarr Beverley shipyard

Postby seagull634 » Mon Dec 04, 2017 2:33 pm

Good Day all, here's my first post on the Forum.
I'm seeking any information about their construction of Keels between 1910 and 1916.
Of special interest , is their source of raw materials for use in fabricating hull plates.

I have an unconfirmed reference that they were supplied from Low Moor Foundry at around this period.

Kind regards
Seagull

Welcome Seagull
I have a probably incomplete list of vessels they built but no means of finding what their supply sources were, sorry. I would have thought that only any surviving company records would show that, if there are any they may be in the Beverley archives?
Cheers, George

Many references in the local press to launches of iron keels at Joseph Scarr's yard and also separate mentions of Low Moor Foundry but I haven't found any yet where the two are combined. Even fewer references of either in the time frame 1910 to 1916.
