See Peters other posts for pictures.

MANORA (Yard No 21), MERKARA (No 22), MORVADA (No 23) and MULBERA (No 24) were British India's "M" Class although they only stayed with the Company for a short period of time before being transfered to other parts of the P&O Group.
21 and 23 had Sulzer Diesels by Barclay, Curle & Co Ltd, Glasgow whilst 22 and 24's Sulzers came from Hawthorn Laslie.
All developed 17,400 bhp at 122 rpm and gave a service speed of 19 knots.
They were equipped with a 100 ton Stulcken Derrick, Deck Cranes and additional derricks.
Very attractive ships, their weakness was only being able to carry 340 Containers and they could not be adapted to carry more.
Three were eventually sold to the United Thai Shipping Company with MULBERA going to Mars Ltd of Hamilton, Bermuda,
