HOPERANGE at Blyth, looking as though she is straight out of drydock. She was built by Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson at their Neptune Yard in 1939.

Swans owned the owners/managers and built most of the ships owned by the company. built as speculative ventures and sold at, hopefully, a good price when and where possible.

Nice pic - long time since I saw sun shining on a ship entering/leaving Blyth.

Managers were Stott, Mann & Fleming at least at some stage.

Hoperange will be in Part Two........ :(
