Ronnie played the church organ at St Cuthbert's and around the time of the Yangtze incident must be Sea Sunday in the Anglican world because at Ronnie's funeral the vicar said that on that particular weekend Ronnie would play For Those In Peril and would remind him that at that time in the past his ship was in danger.

The sole Type 82 destroyer is embraced by the Tyne where she remains fitting out until departure under the red ensign 16th December 1972 as illustrated earlier.

This is to celebrate the 50th anniversary of her launch day and congratulate all who have ensured she remains actively afloat today in Portsmouth harbour as shown in preceding images.

Bristol remains in Pompey harbour having paid off same time as covid kicked off in 2020 awaiting her fate.

There is now a new scheme to preserve Bristol. Well, good luck with that pointless exercise. This in December 2022.

As an aside, Bristol was not the first fit of the 4.5'' mark 8, the 4 Iranian Saam class frigates were. They were also the Worlds first full gas turbine warships of any consequence, ie larger than a gunboat. 3 of the 4 are still plodding on after 50 years. I did not say operational, that is a Big ?? but they do float.
