The DELPHIC was launched for Shaw, Savill and Albion Co. Ltd. at Hebburn in April 1949. As the number of containerships increased, the DELPHIC was sold to shipbreakers at Kaohsiung where she arrived on 14th. August 1971 to be broken up.

Delphic at Plantation Quay, Glasgow, on 22 April 1971 shortly before her demolition, in company with Flaminian – from Henry Robb in 1956 – and a couple of Harrison’s.
