Departing Diversion Quay, Preston, probably having delivered a vessel for recycling - the only likely reason for navigating this part of the Ribble. Behind and overhead the Coal Conveyor bridge to Preston Power Station, linking it to the Dock Estate and its rail network - the bridge having a North East connection, being a product of Cleveland Bridge & Engineering.

Yes Clydebrae, I know she arrived with NELSON for breaking on 01/02/1965 (see photo) so maybe this is the occasion, although she may have made other deliveries around that time.

GREEK AUTHORITIES SEIZE TUG TRANSPORTING CANNABIS AND STIMULANTS Greek authorities say they have seized 6.5 tons of cannabis and a large quantity of pills containing the banned stimulant Fenethylline hidden in a tug boat on the south coast of the island of Crete. The Coast Guard said Tuesday that the cannabis and an estimated 258,000 stimulant pills were found in a hidden compartment and that the vessel was at the small post of Agia Galini. It said the investigation was ongoing and gave no further details. The same vessel — the tugboat "Andreas L" (Imo 5390979) — had also been used in a 2017 smuggling operation, when Greek authorities supported by the European Union border patrol agency arrested six Syrian men and seized a large amount of cannabis and Fenethylline. The stimulant is popular in Middle Eastern countries. (Source: Charlotte Observer) History: The tug was built in 1959 by T. Mitchison & Co Ltd – Gateshead; Great Britain under yard number 91 for James Burness & Sons Ltd., and managed by J. H. Lamey Ltd. After completion delivered to J.H. Lamey Ltd. – Liverpool as William Lamey. In 1962 sold to J.H. Lamey Ltd. – Liverpool. In 1968 taken over by Alexandra Towing Co Ltd. – Liverpool. In 1970 renamed Wapping. In 1975 ownership formally transferred to Alexandra Towing Co Ltd. – Liverpool. In 1984 sold to Link Marine (UK) Ltd. – Liverpool. In 1985 sold to Atlantic Tugs Maritime Co. – Piraeus; Greece and renamed Theodoros I. In 2002 sold to Star Bunkering – Piraeus and renamed Agios Rafail. In 2003 renamed Fox I. In 2006 sold to Serenity Shipping Ltd. In
2006 sold to Sea Ripple Shipping SA. – Monrovia. In 2008 sold to A. Loizides – Limassol; Cyprus and renamed Andreas L.
