That brings back memories, Peter.
But of a few years earlier. The Ouse Burn was my usual turning point at dinner times but sometime I got down further and dodged the hugh Teak Logs that came ashore. No H&S then!
That Berth was known as Newcastle Corporation Quay Extension and had a length of 690 feet with a dredged depth of 30 feet below Chart Datum.
