Might the Atlantic Causeway be the most recent build on the Tyne with yard number 1.

Allocated 1 from Swan Hunter & Tyne Shipbuilders Ltd from their Walker yard with her ill fated sister Atlantic Conveyor allocated y no 2, a few subsequent numbers actually launched before the A Causeway on 2 April 1969 from their other yards.

Causeway was one of 6 sisters constructed for hire to ACL, Atlantic Container Line, and with Conveyor was owned by Cunard. Champagne and Cognac were for CGT, Crown, HAL and Cinderella, OW, all names preceded with Atlantic and were termed the G2's or second Generation RORO / Container ships, now termed CONRO.

ACL are still very active as part of the Grimaldi Group and operate 5 new G4 CONRO's built from 2016.
Thats all folks. Sean.
