One of the seven Type 81 or Tribal class general purpose frigates which served in Her Majesty's Grey Navy.

Her Wasp anti sub helo (helicopter) is perched on the flight deck beneath which is the hangar, the wasp lives inside rather in the fashion of putting a jack in the box. An astonishing evolution by all accounts especially in a bit of roughers.

These Tribals were always a popular draft and could do all the ubiquitous Leander class could but not so rapidly with only 1 screw. 81's introduced the COSAG arrangement, steam and gas, into the RN, a similar arrangement as the 8 County class destroyers where in each of the 2 classes the fore funnel was steam and the aft for the Metrovick G6 Gas turbines.
Thats all folks. Sean.
