Federal Republic of Germany.
HESSEN.
One of four "Hamburg" Class Destroyers built by H C Stulcken Sohn, Hamburg.
Laid Down 1962. Launched 4th May 1963. Completed 8th October 1968.
D: 3,400 Standard. 4.400 Full Load.
D: 439.7 oa x 44 x 17 feet.
G: 4 x 3.9 ". 8 x 40mm (2 x 4). 2 x Bofors 4 barrelled DC Mortars. 5 x 21" TT.
Geared Turbines of 68,000 shp giving a max speed of 35.8 kts.
