Another Challenge!!

Moored next to a Norwegien Frigate........but not from Norway.

The name is wrong, Peter. Its actually SPRINGEREN and she is from Denmark (Although their is also the Swedish SPRINGAREN.)

S 329.
Delfinen Class, Submarine built in the Royal Dock Yard, Copenhagen. In service October 1964.

D: 595 Tons Surface. 643 Tons Submerged.
D: 117.2 x 15.4 x 13.1 feet.
Speed: above and below is 15 knots.
Crew: 33.
A: 4 x 21" TT
Range: 4,000 at 8 knots.

Twin Burmeister and Wain Diesels and Motors. 1,200 bhp.
Built with US Offshore Funds as US SS-554.

This Springeren is alive and well at the Naval Museum, Aalborg, Denmark.

Springeren at Newcastle again on 28 October 1980, with another Norwegian frigate - the Oslo, completed at Horten in 1966.
