Fairfax County moored off Jarrow slake on 1 October 1972 with the refrigerated pallet carrier Zira, (Ship No. 45) built at Swan Hunter’s South Shields yard (John Readhead & Sons) and delivered the following month, completing in the background. Fairfax County later became the Australian amphibious transport Manoora.
